Schools have current tools

Healthier Together Schools was last updated October 26 and lists CANVAS and the school-property vaping toolkit for Alberta schools. Alberta’s strategy also calls for educator guidance and a youth-focused public education campaign.

The prevention list for November 4

  1. Ask where youth products are coming from.
  2. Ask how school incidents connect to enforcement reports.
  3. Ask whether online and informal sellers are being tracked.
  4. Ask whether students who already use nicotine are offered supports.
  5. Ask whether AGLC-style enforcement is built into the recommendation.

Conditional support is credible support

the committee page shows Bill 208 is still in review. Youth-prevention groups can support stronger protection while refusing to endorse a bill that leaves illegal supply unchecked.
